Our friends Lauren Madonna (pseudo road manager and all around super fan of the Ghettobillies) and John Maloney (drummer of the Ghettobillies) got married on July 4th; America’s independence day. A bit ironic, the wedding was a wonderful experience. The weather was perfect. The Madonna’s backyard, where the wedding and reception took place was beautiful and looked like an other worldly sophisticated asian circus, with tents, orange chinese lanterns, and citrus filled center pieces on the tables. Lauren’s mother cooked all the food before hand to feed over 150 hungry, slightly tipsy friends and family members.
This was my first job being “hired” as a photographer. I learned a lot as the day went on and into the evening about how to get a better shot, how to position myself to get ready for a great shot, and what I needed yet to purchase to get certain shots at all.
By the time the cold summer air was settling in and dew was forming on the grass and my laptop, I had amassed a very large collection of images, later to be post processed and tweaked on my computer at home in Chicago.
Hope you enjoy them!
Wow, Robbie – amazing photos! Love the mix of posed and candid, really great stuff…
Nice job,Robb! You captured all the aspects of the wedding. I especially liked the ones of Lauren and John together, taking vows, kissing, resting in the chairs (that was precious), singing. Lauren looked so
happy. John too, but Lauren was beaming throughout.
I see the action continued after we left and Neil,Seth and Bong couldn’t help but pick up their guitars after all.
