Schoolhouse Rock Animation

Schoolhouse Rock Animation

Remember Schoolhouse Rock? I sure do. Saturday morning cartoons wouldn’t have been the same without those educational cartoons to sing along with. My latest animation project was to recreate the look and feel of the old Schoolhouse Rock cartoons in order to help educate Team Leaders on how to better monitor their at home operators with GMT Planet.

I hired and recorded the singers (Ron Hawking and Anne Katzfey) and hand drew all the images. After exporting approximately 4,000 jpgs into After Effects, I then did some post work to give it the old aged feel from the 80’s, with some film grain, faded colors, chromatic aberration, and TV static.

Guess I better go to work tomorrow! Well done, Robbie. I especially liked the spinning sun rays behind the backup singers. Although I was too old for the TV spots, Graeme performed in the musical stage version of “Schoolhouse Rock” and I loved it.
